FIFA 2020 Pitch for E3
Role: Design & Animation

This pitch was for the intro and supporting graphics for the debut of FIFA 2020 at the E3 video game conference. We were given design assets we could remix and make into compositions and then animate. This is by far one of the most fun projects I’ve gotten to work on in my motion career, getting to pull out all the stops to make an amped-up, hype video with lots of glitchy effects and a little bit of cel animation. This ended up helping win them the pitch, which was an added bonus to such a rad project.

The graphic assets we were provided with that we could rearrange to make compositions. I had never worked in this way and really enjoyed this method, as it gave a great starting point with such wild, vibrant shapes that we could then work into style frames.

 
 
 
 

These are the style frames I came up with. I always enjoy this process, utilizing my graphic design skills from my previous career. After some rounds of internal revisions, a select few made it into the animation in the montage above.
