Magazine cover design created for the Statesman Journal's annual Best of the Mid-Valley campaign in Oregon. Readers of the Statesman Journal vote for their favorite local businesses and the winner's are featured in the curated magazine.
The goal was to create an eye-catching cover that would give potential readers a sense of ownership and pride of the Oregon Valley and the businesses that serve them.
The process included studying overhead views of Oregon's capital, Salem, and creating an illustration using vivid colors and textures, with the iconic Mt. Hood in the background.
Run for the House
T-shirt design for a charity run for the House of Compassion of Marshalltown, Iowa.
The goal was to create a fun design for runners to wear for a charity run to help raise money and awareness for the level of poverty in Marshall County.
The process included a few rounds of sketches, narrowing down and revising the final design over phone/email, then finalizing the design to send to the screenprinter.
This was a really amazing project I got to be apart of while getting to use illustration skills and supporting a great cause at the same time.

Hand illustrated typography for the Salvation Army in Wisconsin, used in their holiday marketing campaign.
This was a pitch to sell an advertising campaign to a winter sports store in Wisconsin. I worked on the online portion of the campaign and was joined by a print artist to come up with concepts.
The goal was to pitch an upcoming sale that would appeal to winter sports enthusiasts by having an energetic, youthful look and showing the type of equipment offered.
The process included bouncing concepts back-and-forth with a print artist and then cutting out all the necessary photos. Next, I pieced together a high-action, vibrant scene while showcasing a sample of equipment offered and finally animating the ad.
